Presentation in session “Abu Dhabi Creative City and Its Cooperation with Other Cities.”
I had the pleasure of participating in the expert module two of Forum on Cultural Heritage & Knowledge Development organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) – Abu Dhabi. Module “Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (Cultural Industries),” dissects cultural diversity as a foundation for innovation, inclusion, and resilience. It navigates how legal frameworks, cultural industries, education, and civil society contribute to protecting diverse cultural voices, particularly in times of rapid change or crises. The four-day program (October 7-10) brought together professionals from across the UAE and GCC to explore how culture, creativity, and heritage can intersect to promote sustainable development. Through a combination of seminars, workshops, and site-based exercises, participants engaged in practical exchanges on cultural policy, creative economies, and heritage protection. Alongside Khadija El Bennaoui, Performing Arts Unit Head at the DCT Abu Dhabi, I co-led the session “Abu Dhabi Creative City and Its Cooperation with Other Cities.”
